Dr. Codding is an associate professor of school psychology in the Department of Counseling and School Psychology at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She earned her Ph.D. in school psychology from Syracuse University. Dr. Codding completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the May Institute where she served as an educational and behavioral consultant. Since 2009, Dr. Codding has served in the role of Associate Editor for journals such as the Journal of School Psychology and the Journal of Behavioral Education. Dr. Codding’s research interests focus on the intersection of intervention and implementation by exploring effectiveness of school-based interventions, the factors that contribute to student responsiveness of those interventions, data-based decision making that facilitates effective intervention planning, and strategies to support intervention implementation. Specifically, Dr. Codding is interested in academic interventions and associated assessments for data-based decision making, particularly in the area of mathematics. Dr. Codding is the 2010 co-recipient of the American Psychological Association Division 16 (School Psychology) Lightner Witmer Award for her early career scholarly contributions in the areas of mathematics assessment and intervention.
