George Bear

University of Delaware

George Bear is a professor in the school psychology program at the University of Delaware. He worked as a school psychologist for 7 years in Iowa and Virginia and continues to work one day weekly in a private school. His primary areas of research are school discipline, school climate, and children’s social, emotional, and moral development. Dr. Bear serves on the editorial boards of the School Psychology Review, School Psychology Quarterly, Journal of Educational and Psychological Consultation, and Journal of School Violence. In addition to over 70 journal articles and book chapters, he has authored or co-authored 7 books, including School Discipline and Self-Discipline: A Practical Guide to Promoting Prosocial Behavior (2010).
