Dr. Elizabeth McKenney is a faculty member in the Clinical Child and School Psychology program in the Department of Psychology at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She received her Ph.D. in school psychology from the University of Florida; her predoctoral internship and a year of post-doctoral residency were completed at Round Rock Independent School District in Round Rock, TX. Dr. McKenney’s primary research interests are in evaluating the efficacy of school-based services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and how consultation on the part of school psychologists can support the implementation of evidence-based practices for students with ASD. Related interests include school psychological service delivery under a problem-solving model, culturally competent practice, and appropriate use of school psychologists’ skills. Dr. McKenney teaches graduate courses in consultation, cognitive assessment, contemporary issues in school psychology, and evidence-based assessment and intervention practices for youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as undergraduate courses in child psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis. Dr. McKenney is a certified school psychologist and a licensed clinical psychologist.
